What this site is about
This website is a labor of love. Most people do not realize that there is no planned course to help the students of North Carolina with the computer test. It is assumed that they learn all the terminology and things needed for the test through their everyday lessons. Unfortunately, this is not usually the case. As you well know, teachers are overwhelmed with just trying to teach their every day lessons. With generally just two computer labs (if the school is lucky), per school, it is difficult to give their students integrated lessons. Fortunately, Guilford County has hired us, (Instructional Technology Facilitators) to help the teachers with this task. Most of have two schools, as the schools cannot afford to hire us full time. Our job is to create computer lessons that are integrated with the students' classes. While this is what we like to do most of the time, a large part of our job is to get the eighth graders ready for the computer test. Since there is no class for this, the ITFs work with the core teachers for a minimum of two months before the test, to accomplish this large task. This site was created for all the reasons above.
